Sand House
Sand House is a coastal residence conceived as an extension of nearby Bronte Beach, where the colours, textures, and forms of the landscape shape every interior decision. Commissioned to deliver the complete interior layer, from finishes, joinery, and stone detailing to furnishings, lighting, and art. The project embraces a restrained, sandy palette that feels calm, minimal, and deeply connected to place.
Guided by the concept of flotsam and jetsam, each object was selected with intention, like washed-up treasures gathering on the shoreline. Custom pieces by local artisans sit alongside carefully sourced vintage furniture, artworks, and sustainable materials, introducing warmth, tactility, and a subtle layer of imperfection. Rich natural textures, handcrafted details, and thoughtful material junctions create an atmosphere that balances openness with intimacy.
Designed for both quiet daily rituals and generous family gatherings, the interiors respond to the clients' desire for simplicity without sacrificing character. Purposeful joinery, multifunctional spaces, and enduring materials minimise visual clutter while enhancing everyday life.
